How to Melt Their Hearts on Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is not all about your significant other. It is a holiday in which you can show your love for all your loved ones (friends, teachers, co-workers,etc.). Everyone likes to know how much they are appreciated and it’s nice to let people in your life know that you are thinking about them.

Below are just a few ideas on how to melt the hearts of your loved ones this Valentine’s Day (including your own).

Friends
Plan a girl’s weekend away after Valentine’s Day – We often get so caught up in our everyday lives, that we forget to spend time with the friends who are always there for us. Give a friend or two (or three) a call, send an email or leave a message on their Facebook wall to plan a weekend (or a day if you’re strapped for time) to reconnect, relax and rejuvenate. Book a spa appointment, attend a wine tasting, rent your favorite chick flick. Plan to pamper yourself and them by indulging in your favorite foods and chocolate like irresistibly smooth melting Lindt LINDOR truffles.

Significant Other
Instead of doing one gift on Valentine’s Day try giving a few little gifts/deeds throughout the day or days leading to Valentine’s Day. The night before Valentine’s Day leave a little personalized love note with a Lindt LINDOR truffle next to it. They will truly appreciate your kind words and the fact they get to have an unexpected chocolate treat. The morning of, surprise them with breakfast in bed (try making a heart shaped item i.e. pancake in the shape of a heart). In the afternoon send them an email with hints of what their Valentine’s Day gift is. This will be sure to keep them smiling and guessing throughout the day.

Family
After shopping for your significant other and friends, don’t forget mom and dad this Valentine’s Day season. Show your love by doing something special. Invite them over for a home cooked meal. They will love the thoughtful gesture. If they don’t live close by send them a ecard where you can personalize your own message.

Coworkers
After spending 40+ hours every week with your coworkers, you can become pretty close friends. Let them know how much you enjoy working with them by giving them a special treat this Valentine’s Day. Try making your own gourmet Lindt chocolates (find the recipe here). Customize each truffle topping to your coworkers personality or tastes (sprinkles, nuts, etc.).
