This summer, students at The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) had an opportunity to enter the Lindt EXCELLENCE Recipe Challenge, a scholarship contest hosted by Lindt Chocolate and the CIA. CIA students challenged their culinary creativity and expertise to develop a new chocolate bar, inspired by the Lindt EXCELLENCE collection of dark chocolate bars with innovative flavor combinations. Bar submissions were reviewed and judged by a panel of CIA chef instructors and Lindt representatives.
We are proud to announce Lindt Mocha Coconut, the winning bar recipe by Meredith Walter!
Lindt Mocha Coconut features rich coffee, delicate coconut flakes, and premium bittersweet chocolate in a simply satisfying combination of familiar flavors. The winning bar was produced in limited quantities and is now available exclusively on Lindt.com and in select Lindt Chocolate Shops for a limited time.
The winner of the content, Meredith Walter, a baking and pastry arts student at The Culinary Institute of America, was inspired to develop the Mocha Coconut dark chocolate bar recipe concept after pairing two favorite flavors to create a special coconut birthday cake with mocha frosting for her mother and her uncle.
